Robert “Bob” Odenkirk was born on
October 22nd 1962 in Napperville Illinois. He became involved in the comedy and entertainment industry from a very young age, starting at college where he began writing as a radio DJ.
He soon decided to move to Chicago and began performing open mic stand up comedy and after a few years he had made several influential friends in the business including the then future Saturday Night Live writer ‘Robert Smigel’ and through his friendship with him began submitting his work to the Saturday Night Live team and was eventually given a job on the writing staff.
He was responsible for creating great characters such as ‘Matt Foley’ but politics soon began to frustrate Bob and he found himself getting less of his work on air.
He went on a writers strike and during that time worked on an improvisational comedy project called ‘Happy Happy Good Show’.

Bob soon left Saturday Night Live and moved to LA where he found work on the TV show ‘Get a life’ it was fairly short lived, but it gave him plenty of opportunities to make contacts who helped him get a job on ‘The Dennis Miller Show’ where he was noticed by actor Ben Stiller and hired to work on ‘The Ben Stiller Show’. Which was where he met another writer called David Cross, the two began performing comedy sketches around LA and these eventually turned into ‘Mr Show’.

Bob Odenkirk has made several cameo appearances since then in various different shows such as ‘Curb your enthusiasm’ ‘Arrested Development’ and ‘Seinfeld’ and the Larry Sanders show where he played Larry’s agent ‘Stevie Grant’.
